To bring awareness to the issues that play with your morals to plague your society.

Counter Point bridges the gap between people and information on complex social issues. They say, “Prevention is better than cure”.

But how do you PREVENT when you don’t even know if it even exists?

Therefore, a prerequisite to prevention is awareness.

Awareness of what is being propagated in your society and whether or not it’s something you should be tone-deaf to.

Without being aware, you will not be able to prevent OR even see what is coming your way or your children’s way…

And that is precisely what Counter Point’s motive is.

Counter Point is a hub for information, education and solutions to the causes, practices, and movements shaping the narrative of our existing and future generations to normalise what is WRONG.

ABOUT US

COUNTERPOINT is an initiative by Al Wasila

COUNTER POINT is a project of Al Wasila Trust. Al Wasila Trust works rigorously to alleviate poverty throughout the country with sincere intentions.

Many relief programs are running under the umbrella of Al Wasila, which include the provision of housing, enabling people to earn a livelihood, garbage collection and provision of drinking water.

COUNTER POINT is determined to address complex social issues that make or break a society. The issues that matter the most today and in the long run, as they continue to impact not only the lives of the people directly involved but also have a trickle-down impact on the society as whole.

These issues include the prevalence and dominance of LGBTQ, Substance Abuse, Atheism and Domestic Violence in our society for now.

The motive is to understand….

What causes these issues?
How to protect ourselves from this fitnah?
How these morally problematic issues are progressively being pushed to be a part of our society as the ‘New Normal’?
How can we take preventive measures? How can you seek help if you have been directly involved in any of them?

IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK!

It is not intersex. It is way beyond what is natural. We are not here to discriminate. We are here to educate. With the recently passed Transgender Bill in Pakistan, we have to date seen more than 30,000 people changing their gender identity on their National Identity Cards. This gives males (identifying themselves as females not biologically but because they wanted to) the right to enter female washrooms and females (identifying themselves as males not biologically but …………..

If you’ve been thinking vaping is no drug, then, unfortunately, you are wrong

Substance abuse comes in various forms, light, moderate and extreme. Vaping is no different from sniffing other forms of drugs. Let’s begin with the basics, any form of addiction is harmful. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviours that are compulsive and often have harmful consequences. Anyone who is addicted to anything can have a major problem in processing what is right and what is wrong. Addiction is a chronic s ……

No one is born atheist

It is the lack of knowledge, the lack of evidence, the rejection of the existence of God, the inability to trace the roots of certain commands in Holy Books, and some arguments that fall flat to convince because of non-belief.

An atheist will NOT be convinced by a religious argument but by one that is logically holding its roots in religion. This means to fight atheism, you need to be knowledgeable enough to debunk atheist arguments in today’s world.

Otherwise, you will find yourself drowning in the never ending debate of who created the world or if God truly exists.

O“O believers treat women with kindness even if you dislike them; it is quite possible that you dislike something which Allah might yet make a source of abundant good” (An Nisa 4:19).

Domestic violence is an issue that has persisted for more than 1000 years now. It continues to age as people from our ummah continue to misinterpret and misconstrue the Quran and Ahadith and what has been taught as the coping mechanism by our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H)

NOTE: Domestic violence is a broad term. It can take many forms, including emotional, sexual and ……
